In a world where nutrition became an occupation, everybody is making their own statements about the optimal meal frequency. Since most of the people are making their assumptions before even doing any kind of research, I have come to the conclusion that most of these so called recommendations and suggestions are nothing but misleading. Some say that breakfast and having 4-5 meals is the best while others say that you should skip breakfast. The body is perfectly able of giving you signs so listening to your own body could do the best trick.
If you wake up in the morning and you feel like eating breakfast, just do it. Eating a few larger meals or more frequent smaller ones can be exactly the same thing, depending on how many calories you ingest. To some people, eating more frequently is a better option while others prefer three steady meals a day. It is not important how frequently you eat, it is the amount of food consumed that matters.

If you are having any blood sugar issues, it is scientifically proven that eating fewer, larger meals will help you with lowering of your blood glucose level and keep it on normal. It is also proven that people who are eating more frequently are getting more hungry compared to people with fewer meals.
Skip meals for better health
Skipping meals can have some health benefits if it is done properly and from time to time. Intermittent fasting can improve your glucose and insulin level and regulate your insulin sensitivity as well. There is one more thing to it. Fasting can cause a process called autophagy which is basically a cellular cleanup process, which is extremely good for your health. There are even some studies that say more frequent eating can increase the risk of colon cancer but, I am not sure if that is completely true.
Listen to your body
No one can put themselves in your skin and tell you when to eat or not. Your own body has ways of telling you what feels good or bad for it. Common sense tells you to act normally in terms of eating when you are hungry. It is pretty simple actually. If you are hungry, get something to eat and when you are full, stop. Eating more frequently and smaller meals or fewer larger ones depends only on you and the things you do. If you are an athlete, you will feel the need to eat more often simply because of all the effort you put yourself through but, this does not mean that you have to do it if you do not exercise at all.
Listen to your body and pay attention to what you eat. It is better to eat more of a healthy food than less but full of junk. Drink lots of water and avoid junk food, that is my advice.
